Rummy FAQ: reader questions desk

A pure sequence is three or more consecutive cards of the same suit with no joker: example 5♥ 6♥ 7♥. An impure sequence uses a printed or wild joker to fill a missing rank: example 5♥ 6♥ JK 8♥. A declaration must contain at least one pure sequence; an impure sequence alone is not enough. The full definitions sit at /rules/.

Rummy is generally classified as a game of skill and is therefore outside the prohibition of the Public Gambling Act 1867: but Indian states have the power to restrict real-money gaming, and several have done so. Most Indian rummy rooms apply a 25-point penalty for a first drop and a 50-point penalty for a middle drop. A full-show winner scores zero, and a wrong declaration usually doubles the unmatched-card value. Verify the exact numbers in the room you join.

If a joker falls inside a sequence, the cut card at the same rank becomes a second joker for the rest of that hand. You can use it the same way you would use the printed joker. The full definition and a worked example live at /rules/.

Most Indian rummy apps expose a deposit limit under the responsible-gaming menu. Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap and confirm by email before the limit activates. The responsible-play desk at /responsible-play/ lists the limits we recommend as a starting point.

Both are pool formats where entry fees are pooled and the game ends when a player crosses a points cap. Pool 101 ends at 101 points: faster turnover, smaller swing per round. Pool 201 ends at 201 points: longer game, larger swing. The full comparison lives at /points-system/.

A wrong declaration is when a player declares without a valid pure sequence, without two sequences total, or with unmatched cards left over. Most rooms double the unmatched-card value as a penalty. The full rules live at /rules/.
